Steve Legg

Treasurer

Steve was born and raised in Kirkland, and lives with his family (wife Carla and teenage twins) in the same neighborhood where he grew up. Steve has been a long-time supporter of the Boys and Girls Clubs, serving on the advisory board of the Eastside Clubs (Kirkland, Redmond and Sammamish) for several years.

A long-time insurance and risk management professional, Steve spent the last 27 years with Starbucks, leading the risk management team within the treasury department. During his career Steve was active in the Risk & Insurance Management Society (RIMS), serving as a board member and Past President of the Washington State Chapter. He was a frequent speaker at industry events and to college students.

Steve loves to travel with his family, get away for fishing and skiing trips, and he is an avid fan of the local sports teams. He also enjoys serving as a middle school ski bus chaperone and as a regular volunteer for Merrill Gardens at Kirkland.

Steve’s favorite park is Doris Cooper Houghton Beach Park, named after the former Mayor of Kirkland who lived across the street from him during his youth.
