Chris Wheaton

Board Member

Chris is a long-term Kirkland resident, moving here with his family in 2003 after surviving Silicon Valley’s first dotcom boom-and-bust. Kirkland was the first and only place they thought about living upon returning to the PNW. Twenty years later, that instinctive decision now seems like a stroke of genius. With two daughters successfully raised in the Lake Washington School District and now ranging the world on their own, Chris and his wife are fully enjoying all that Kirkland has to offer. Chris brings a varied breadth of financial, operational, and general management experience to the KCF board and has served on and worked with a variety of for-profit and non-profit boards, including most recently PEMCO Mutual Insurance Company and the Lake Washington Schools Foundation. Chris has a personal mission to advance equity and inclusion and is proud to be part of the work that KCF can and will do to support our community.

Community Project Letter of Interest

Kirkland Community Foundation has long served as the hub for successful projects inititated by members of our community, including the Save Our Salmon mural and the Waverly Beach Picnic Shelter. Have an idea for a project? Please complete this form as an initial step in the process, and we'll be in touch!
